DURHAM, N.C. - Alabama running back Mark Ingram broke a 48-yard run on the first play from scrimmage and the No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide never looked back in its 62-13 win against Duke Saturday afternoon.

Saturday proved to be an impressive day for the Crimson Tide offense, which scored 62 points for the first time since 1991 and posted over 600 yards of offense for the first time since 1989.

Ingram, in his first game of the 2010 season, ran for 152 yards on nine carries with two touchdowns. Senior quarterback Greg McElroy was impressive through the air with 258 yards and three touchdowns in his 14-for-20 performance. Sophomore Trent Richardson's 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was the first for Alabama since 2004.

The Crimson Tide wasted no time setting the tone with junior Julio Jones returning the opening kickoff 41 yards followed by Ingram's 48-yard gain. Three plays later McElroy connected with junior Darius Hanks on a nine-yard fade route for the first touchdown of the game.

Alabama would go on to score three more touchdowns in the first quarter, including Ingram's first of the season, a one-yard burst on the Tide's third possession, to take a 28-3 lead into the second quarter.

The second quarter saw McElroy hit senior Preston Dial for a touchdown early, followed by Richardson's 96-yard kickoff return. Freshman Cade Foster ended the half with a 44-yard field goal, to give the Tide a 45-13 lead heading into the half.

The Alabama defense stood strong in the second half, shutting out the Duke offense after giving up the first touchdown of the season in the second quarter. Another Foster field goal combined with two more rushing touchdowns from Richardson and freshman Eddie Lacy, gave the Crimson Tide their final 62-13 victory.

The Tide will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., next Saturday to face the Arkansas Razorbacks. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (CDT) on CBS.
